About Me

Who I Am – My name is Julie Von Bergen-Rose and I am a Certified Reiki Practitioner/Master/Teacher. I have been practicing Reiki and Native American Medicine for the last 8 years.

I lived in a small town in Northern Wisconsin for 10 years near an Native American Reservation. I learned to appreciate and respect the earth and the seasons while living there. The forces of nature can be quite profound in Northern Wisconsin. The forests are beautiful and the lakes breathtaking in the mornings and evenings with steam rising off of them. There is nothing like the sound of a lake making ice in the fall or the feeling of the ice breaking up in the spring when the earth is reborn. I was fortunate to live on a lake and had many friends from the Native American community. I got to experience things that most Americans don’t get to see. I went wild rice harvesting in a “real birch bark canoe” and went to private Pow Wow’s that only the tribal members were invited to. It was a life changing part of my life path and brought me closer to Spirit and Nature.

Nature Connections – I have had a special and strong connection with nature my entire life. Beginning when I was a small child. My father introduced me to playing in the mud in our back yard and discovering what lived there. I loved worms and spiders. My father and I planted a Red Maple tree in our back yard when I was 8 years old and that tree has grown to become my connection to the earth.

Animal Connections – I have always surrounded myself with animals. My first encounter was my pet Goldfish – Goldie. My mom and dad got her for me when I was very young. I remember sitting by her tank and watching her swim for hours. Since then I have never been without an animal in my life. I currently am living with 15 parrots, 3 dogs, a gold fish. My life has lead me to these animals and them to me. All are rescues and have been deemed “unwanted” by their previous owners. Most have behavioral issues or are terminally ill or very old. They will live out their lives here with me, being loved and cared for with the best organic food and medical care. You can see them at their web site: MyGreyParrots.com

My Reiki Decision – I decided to practice Reiki after the sudden loss of a dear friend. He was my friend, mentor and my surrogate father. He lived in Northern Wisconsin and stepped into my fathers shoes after my father passed. His philosophy was always, “This life is too short, do what makes you happy.” I just knew that I needed to work with healing energy to help people and animals over come great challenges in their lives. My dream is to give to others the comfort and understanding that my friend gave to me.

I also incorporate simple mediation, crystals, Aroma Therapy, Shamanic Journey, Power Animals and Totems into my work and treatments.
